Tequila Slush Recipes - Spec's Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods

When it’s this hot out the only thing sweating should be your ice-cold beverage. And that’ll definitely be the case when you’re celebrating National Tequila Day with one of our highly recommended slushes in hand!

Whether you’re lounging by the pool, grilling at a cookout, or just unwinding after a long hot day, these delicious frozen tequila cocktails are surprisingly easy to make with just a blender, some ice and a handful of ingredients. Tequila Sunrise Slushy

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine orange juice concentrate, tequila, lime juice, and ice in a mixer.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour mixture into a Martini glass, Margarita glass, or other preferred glassware.
  4. Add roughly ½ ounce grenadine syrup per glass.
  5. Stir gently to create the sunrise effect and serve.

 

Paloma Slush

Ingredients

  • 1 ruby red grapefruit, peel removed
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 3 oz tequila
  • 2 tbsp simple syrup
  • 1 cup Sprite or Sprite Zero
  • 2 cups ice

Directions

  1. Remove peel from grapefruit and cut in half.
  2. Juice your lime and discard the remnants.
  3. Add all ingredients to the blender including lime juice and grapefruit, ice last.
  4. Turn blender on to Variable 1 speed and slowly increase to Variable 10. Blend until ice, grapefruit and liquid are well blended.
  5. Pour into two glasses and enjoy.

 

Watermelon Tequila Slush

Ingredients

  • 5 cups diced seedless watermelon
  • 1 cup ice
  • ¼ cup tequila
  • 3 tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. agave syrup
  • Fresh mint for garnish

Directions

  1. Place the watermelon on a sheet pan and freeze for at least 1 hour, or until frozen solid.
  2. Combine watermelon, ice, tequila, lime juice and agave syrup in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and watermelon slices, if desired. Serve immediately.

 

Bloody Maria Slush

Ingredients

  • 4 oz blanco tequila
  • 8 oz tomato juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce, to taste
  • 1 dash Tabasco or other chili sauce, to taste
  • 1 tsp. prepared horseradish, to taste
  • 2 pinches celery salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Jalapeño slices for garnish
  • Celery sticks for garnish

Directions

  1. Freeze tomato juice in food-safe ice cube trays, molds, or ice cube bags overnight.
  2. Combine frozen tomato juice, tequila, and other ingredients in a mixer and blend until slushy.
  3. Adjust seasonings to your preference.
  4. Pour into glasses, garnish with celery sticks and jalapeños, and serve.

(This version relies on pre-made tomato juice and spices, but feel free to consider using Bloody Mary mixers and skip the spice.)
