Ice Cream Cocktails

Inside every adult, there is an inner kid. That kid remembers the magical days of chasing down the ice cream truck. Sheer excitement took every child on the block when the melodic chimes of “Turkey in The Straw” or “The Entertainer” grew closer because that music meant a cold and delicious treat was just around the corner.

Those days are long over. But who says you need a box truck playing an aged tune to make the experience of ice cream feel magical again? The solution? Add alcohol, my friend. Mix up these boozy Chocolate Ice Cream cocktails to celebrate the most popular ice cream flavor: Chocolate Ice Cream Day.

Death by Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Crushed ice
  • 2 scoops Chocolate ice cream
  • 1 oz Chocolate syrup
  • 1 oz Coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz Dark crème de cacao liqueur
  • 1 oz Vodka
  • Whipped cream and maraschino cherry for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Pour all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into a stemmed glass, such as a hurricane glass.
  3. Top with whipped cream and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Chocolate Stout Float

(makes 2)

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbps Chocolate syrup, divided
  • 2 oz Espresso or strong brewed coffee, cooled, divided
  • ½ tsp Vanilla extract, divided (optional)
  • 1 pint Premium chocolate ice cream
  • 1 12-ounce bottle Guinness Extra Stout
  • Unsweetened whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. Drizzle 1 tbsp chocolate syrup around the insides of each beer mug.
  2. Pour one oz of coffee in each mug and add ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract. Swish the mugs around a few times.
  3. Next, add a couple scoops of ice cream the mugs.
  4. Angle your beer mug and slowly pour in half a bottle of stout into each beer glass. Easy does it. It will foam up.
  5. Top your mug with whipped cream. Insert straw. Sip. Grab a long-handled spoon and dig in.

Boozy Orange Chocolate Ice Cream Cocktail

(makes 2)

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbps Hot chocolate mix
  • 8 oz Milk (very hot, or very hot water)
  • 1 oz Orange liqueur (like Cointreau, Grand Marnier or Triple Sec) 1 scoop Chocolate ice cream
  • Orange slices for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Combine the hot chocolate powder and milk and/or water in a mug.
  2. Drizzle in the orange liqueur and stir.
  3. Top with the scoop of ice cream. Serve and enjoy!

Chocolate Monkey

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot Banana Liqueur
  • 2 shots Creme De Cacao
  • 2 scoops Chocolate Ice Cream
  • 1 oz Chocolate Syrup
  • 4 oz White or Chocolate Milk
  • Whipped Cream
  • 1 Cherry
  • 1 piece Banana

Instructions:

  1. Blend liqueurs with ice cream, milk, and syrup.
  2. Pour into parfait glass, top with whipped cream, and garnish with banana slice and cherry.
