Happy Halloween: Hollywood Horror Classics

Halloween is here and one the best ways to celebrate is with a good dose of classic horror films! To make it even more interesting this year, we highlighted famous drinks from some of the most timeless thrillers. So before you hit the lights and press the play button, fill up your glass with the beverage that matches your movie!

The Shining – Bourbon on the Rocks
In this 1980 classic, Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) is overseeing the Overlook Hotel when he wanders into the Gold Room and meets a bartender who serves him the classic Bourbon on the Rocks. This famous scene shows the start of Jack’s downward spiral.

Any Alfred Hitchcock Film – Bordeaux and Champagne
Celebrate Halloween right and take a piece of advice from the Master of Suspense. A lover of fine wines, Hitchcock made sure to highlight a fine Bordeaux or champagne in nearly every one of his films. May we suggest a Hitchcock marathon with your favorite bottle of wine or bubbly?

A Clockwork Orange – Moloko Plus
The ingredients of this famous cocktail were never actually defined in this Stanley Kubrick film, but fans of the book and movie came with a recipe that matches the drink’s description.
1 oz absinthe
1 oz Anisette liqueur
2 oz Irish cream
Milk
Pour the absinthe, anisette and Irish cream into a tall, chilled glass. Fill to top with milk and enjoy Alex DeLarge’s sharp and biting drink!

Murder on the Orient Express – Amber Moon
In this 1974 film, based on the 1934 novel by Agatha Christie, the butler, Mr. Beddoes, famously brings an Amber Moon to his employer, Mr. Ratchett, just before the discovery of his murder. An unusual cocktail, this pick-me-up is made with Tabasco, one raw egg* and whiskey, all mixed together.

*Consuming raw eggs may increase your risk of food-borne illness.
