Spring is still officially a couple of weeks away but don’t tell that to peach blossoms. They’re like flashy, enthusiastic guests who arrive early at a party and command all your attention until others show up. In certain cultures, peach blossoms are said to be more powerful than other blooms because they burst open while the tree’s branches are still bare of leaves!
To celebrate National Peach Blossom Day, take a cue from the peach blossom’s audacious playbook and enjoy a pre-Equinox toast. Between Spec’s bounty of peachy-keen mixings and the recipes below, you can practically taste spring’s arrival!
Peach Prosecco
1 oz vodka
1 oz peach liqueur
1 oz Prosecco
½ oz lemon juice
½ oz peach nectar
2 dashes peach bitters
Peach wedge for garnish
In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients. Shake vigorously, strain into a chilled champagne glass, and garnish with a peach wedge.
Peachy Comfort
1 oz Southern Comfort
1 oz peach schnapps
1 oz orange juice
1 peach
Orange juice to taste
Mint Sprig for garnish
Blend all ingredients with ice and pour into a glass. Garnish with a mint sprig and enjoy!
