It’s time to get out the cake and load it up with 242 birthday candles because we’re celebrating America this month! That’s right, the United States is turning 242 years old this month and we’re gonna help you rock it’s socks off with some awesome drink recipes that would have the founding fathers swapping powdered wigs for lampshades.
Sazerac
The Sazerac holds the honor of being the first American cocktail, so we thought it rather fitting to include here. Plus, all the spirits in this recipe are made right here in Texas. In fact, Emerald Absinthe is the first absinthe crafted in Texas.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 oz Kooper Family Rye
- 1 Sugar cube
- 3 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 1 tsp Emerald Absinthe
- Lemon peel
Instructions
- Chill an Old Fashioned glass or small tumbler in the freezer.
- In a mixing glass, combine sugar Peychaud’s bitter, and a few drops of water. Mix until sugar is dissolved and add Kooper family Rye. Add plenty of ice and stir well.
- In your chilled glass, pour absinthe and rotate the glass well until the inside is coated; discard the excess.
- Strain liquid from your mixing glass and pour into the chilled serving glass.
- Twist a piece of lemon peel over the drink for garnish. Raise a glass to America and indulge!
Honey White & Blue
This patriotic cocktail was created by Jim Beam’s Master Mixologist specifically for the Fourth of July.
Ingredients
- 2 parts Jim Beam® Honey
- 1 part Blue Curacao
- 2 parts White Cranberry Juice
- Juice of one half lime
Instructions
- Shake all but the Curacao and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Slowly pour the Curacao against the inside of the glass so that it sinks to the bottom. Garnish with a strawberry on the rim.
Fireworks Fizz
Light up your mouth with this easy to make and delicious little firecracker.
Ingredients
- 1 part Skinnygirl™ White Cherry Vodka
- 4 parts sparkling water
- Splash of all natural pomegranate juice
Instructions
- Combine vodka and sparkling water over a glass of ice. Finish with a splash of pomegranate juice.
Peach Apple Summer Punch
Because hydration is key!
Ingredients
- 1 cup Peach Nectar
- 1 cup Lemonade
- 1 cup Pineapple Juice
- 1 cup Ginger Ale
- 1 cup Jim Beam’s Red Stag Cider
- Frozen Peaches, lemon wheels, and lime wheels for Garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine all of your ingredients except your ginger ale in a punch bowl or pitcher.
- Garnish with any fruits you desire, we chose lemon & limes wheels.
- Store in the fridge for a few hours to chill. When, ready to serve, add in your Ginger Ale and serve.
