Five Fall Wine Picks

Fall Wines

Fall is one of the more romanticized seasons. For many people in the U.S., fall is synonymous with colorful leaves, cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice everything, and hearty meals. It’s true that in Texas the fall season is a little warmer, and a little shorter. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy wines that are perfect for autumn sipping. Here are our top wine picks to enjoy this fall.

  1. Beppe Pinot Noir

This Italian pinot noir is elegant fruit-forward and slightly earthy on the palate. The bouquet offers scents of red and black currants with fine notes of vanilla. It pairs well with wild mushrooms or bruschetta.

  2. Woodhaven Chardonnay

This chardonnay has beautiful, bright colors with playful aromas of citrus and vanilla. It is well balanced and has a rich, full mouthfeel with notes of pear and apple, leading to a long aftertaste of roasted almonds and ginger syrup.

  3. Harvest Acres Sweet Red Moscato

This lively red moscato has flavors of sweet cherry, cantaloupe, and rose petals. It is an ideal companion for an autumn Texas day and pairs well with cobbler or pork dishes.

  4. 19 Crimes Red Rare Blend

This red blend uses shiraz, grenache, and mataro. 19 Crimes is an Australian wine company, and according to them, their wine bears the same traits as those banished to Australia–defiant by nature, bold in character. To us, it’d be a crime not to try this fall wine pick.

  5. Archaval-Ferrer Quimera Bordeaux Blend

This wine features a sophisticated and unique blend of malbec, cabernet franc, and merlot. This blend is deeply nuanced with notes winding from earth, boulder, and dark fruit up to delicate rosemary. It is ample in the palate with delicate acidity. We recommend decanting this wine at least an hour before drinking.
